I have always lived by the belief that becoming aware and to have knowledge pertaining to issues that are taking place in our world will make a difference because at least one person can obtain that knowledge and can share it forward.

I have recently been made aware of that millions of young girls lack the resources of affordable sanitary protection, which can lead to devastating lifelong consequences, leading them to abandon school, and to potentially face poverty and disease.

This is really devastating to find out about because something so common and overlooked could have negative effects. I know that I complain about having to go to the store to pick up sanitary products when aunt flow visits once a month…and I’m sure many of you ladies do too! After this realization, I am thankful to have access and want to help out the young girls out there that doesn’t have an easy access to this problem.

Who would've thought that a shorty like me could pull off a maxi skirt? The trick to not getting swallowed up in that skirt is to get it altered of course! This is my first maxi of any sort and I am in LOVE. And YES GIRL, I look hella tan...it's because I am (ahem, thanks to summer)! Most of the time, my blogger pictures wash me out...which I hate but whatevvvvvvs.

Steady as she rose is from OPI's Pirates of the Caribbean collection. The flash doesn't show its true colors because it's more of a muted greyish-lavender-dusty pink, hence the non-flash photo. And NO, no silver shatter for me. I think I'm just about done with shatter as my bottle is drying up- good timing!

REVIEW: LIPTON 100% NATURAL ICED TEA

I had the wonderful opportunity to try out the Lipton 100% Natural Iced Tea. The flavors that came out were: Blueberry Pomegranate, Green Tea with Passionfruit Mango, Iced Tea with Lemon, Green Tea with Citrus, Diet Green Tea with Watermelon, and Diet Green Tea with Citrus.

PROS

Natural: real sugar and natural flavors
Variety of flavors to pick from
Bottle design is eye-candy
Most likely affordable

CONS

Taste: all of them tasted like a diet beverage...
faint hint of tea but more like a fruit beverage

BOTTOM LINE

Sad to say...I didn't like the iced teas. I wouldn't purchase or try again. But this is only according to my preference. I'm sure others out there will like it!

It was a nice sunny weekend so what did I do to have fun? I decided to break out my new e.l.f. makeup to try out over the weekend and I am impressed. Oh and by the way, I got a haircut last week...a lot of layers and a quick trim. =]

Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths did fairly well in my book. I wouldn't repurchase again because of the strong unpleasant smell.

The High Definition Powder is one of my products now. It is comparable to the other high definition powders out there. I would repurchase again!

PROS

Did wonders for a flawless face in pictures
Inexpensive
Comparable to MUFE high definition powder, which I owned and returned because it was too spendy.

CONS

Can make your face pale

Stipple Brush and Angled Contour Brush: As thought, did not disappoint because I love all e.l.f. studio brushes!

Complete Coverage Concealer in "Light"...I would NOT repurchase again.

The powder sheds easily as seen but doesn't that happen to most powder stuff?

Complexion Perfection...I do like this and it paired perfectly with the High Definition powder. Trust me, those colors do not show up on your face, hah.

Pigment Eyeshadow in "Innocent Ivory" is very pigmented and such a pretty color! It actually shows up goldish pink.

Cream eyeliner in "Black" was very dark and pigmented and glided easily. I would never use a brush that goes with a product but this little guy did a pretty decent j o b.

I hope this helped out all of you ladies and gents that have been curious about e.l.f. cosmetics as I was because I only owned their brushes and a blush. Now I'm hooked!

REVIEW: CORIOLISS CLIPLESS CURLING IRON

I had the wonderful opportunity to get my hands on the Corioliss Clipless Wand Ceramic Curling Iron .7" (18mm)! I have been seeing the clipless curling irons circulating in the blogger world, youtube, and now...in stores. I love to curl my hair so I knew I had to give this a go...so THANK YOU MISIKKO! Misikko is an online boutique that sells high quality hair irons such as the Corioliss Hair Straightener and many other products.

What sets Misikko from other online retailers, aside from their products are their customer service. My emails were answered in a quick manner along with great communication and LOOK AT THE PACKAGE that was sent to me. I was in awe when I opened box...it was filled with extra goodies and was topped off with pretty purple decorations. Talk about winning a girls heart, hah just kidding.

"Beyonce" Curls:

"Kim Kardash" Curls:

This look was achieved by just simply BRUSHING my "Beyonce" curls out...how frickin' amazing!!!!! This is what I call a good hurrr day. =]

The curling iron came with a heat glove and heat proof pouch, which is very essential for starters and traveling.

PROS

Lasting curls, it didn't loosen as quickly as with a regular curling iron. It lasted until the next day.
Heats up very quickly.
Chic packaging, I like the all black ensemble.
Can create different curled looks.

CONS

Could be a bit challenging to use at first...I recommend using the heat glove until you've got enough practices in!
On the spendier side but it's a great investment.

BOTTON LINE

This curling iron is my new BFF. I would repurchase from Misikko and Corioliss in the future. Also note: I sprayed my hair with the Paul Mitchell extra-body daily boost for volume and heat protection before blow drying hair and before curling.

REVIEW: B.LIV OIL LEVIATE & GOT ME COVERED

I had an opportunity to review the Oil Leviate and Got Me Covered facial products from b.liv (or visit their fan page). I am always looking out for new products to try, especially something to combat my extremely oily! b.liv also tossed in a SUPER CUTE green bag, which has been added to my many green bags collection.

I am impressed with the packaging, it is very clean.

OIL LEVIATE

[oil control gel; main function: oil control + mattifying + hydrating]

From the website:

Infused with potassium azeloyl diglycinate and grapefruit extract, this mattifying gel perfectly regulates your sebum secretion, helping your skin feel less oily and in need of attention. Its fast absorption and weightless gel texture ensures a healthy and quenched face.

LOVE

No detectable scent
It is refreshing and absorbs quickly since it is a gel type
Instantly mattifies, brighten, and soften skin
Used as a moisturizer (as I ALWAYS use a moisturizer prior to makeup application)
Did I mention VERY LIGHT, which is an advantage for oily skin
Did not cause break outs
Good sized bottle, a little goes a long way (the size I pumped in the above picture was WAY too much but it was for visual purposes)

HATE

The price. It is on the expensive side.

HATE

The foundation part deeply disappointed me. This was more like a HINT of color (like a tinted moisturizer). The color part literally disappeared like it wasn't there in the first place. There's only the color "brown" available, when it is a foundation and sunblock hybrid. It did not cover anything, as a foundation would.
It was a bit TOO creamy and thick for my oily skin
Again, the price...it is very expensive for a facial sunblock
Did not see any oil control

Before y'all proceed to my before and after pictures...please be aware that these were taken at the END OF THE DAY for accurate and honest results...so please be nice because I don't know about you guys but I usually feel and look drained by the end of my days.
WARNING: GREASE-BALL AHEAD! ;)

BEFORE: Face with moisturizer-lotion only. Six hours after application of products.

AFTER: Face with oil leviate & got me covered. Six hours after application of products.

BOTTOM LINE

I appreciated that both products did not cause break outs since I am acne prone but I also don't have sensitive skin if that makes sense. I am rather surprised that the oil leviate worked so well with my oily skin. I mean, I did get oily by the end of the day but OH BOY, can you see the difference! It definitely controlled my oil production on my face. As for the got me covered, I would pass on that because it didn't work as a perfect hybrid as I anticipated and it didn't work for me. I would probably just substitute that for cheaper and lighter facial sunblock. I hope this helps anybody out there that are on the fence about these products.

These are my first Orly nail polishes and I am *SO* happy because I have been wanting to try this brand out for a while and my nail polish collection is growing! I will probably go pick up Essie (never tried either) and China Glaze polishes up this weekend too.

As y'all know, MAC's Quite Cute collection came out yesterday. I was definitely excited about this collection because everything was ADORABLE. I have been eyeing the Candy Yum Yum lipstick ever since I heard about this collection. SO, I go to one of the MAC counter to try this on and *LOVED* it and they said they were OUT. OHH MYYY GOSH. Naturally, I'm about to go to the other malls to hunt it down.

I was super excited when I received this polish! The color is so pretty- it is a greige-purple shade with silver/lilac glitter. I pretty much took of my current polish and polished this baby onto my nails.

I'm sure that every girl that colors her hair experiences this problem... YOUR ROOTS SHOWING! bleh bleh bleh...unless your color is very close to your natural color or going for that 'ombre' hair color then that is a different story. I'm talking about highlights or color that is grown out and the color and roots are DRASTIC.

And why is it that you KNOW when your hair needs to get recolored again and your stylist is always booked out for another week or two and can't you in like TODAY!? frustrating i know...but I wouldn't ever go to get my hair done by somebody I have never worked with, no matter how desperate I am. SO, i will wait patiently and annoyed until my day comes around.

As some of you guys know, I have colored my hair two months a go...I HAD blended chocolate-chestnut highights allover for a natural mane with dimensions. But I wanted to go darker for winter so I had an allover dark chocolate brown done along with tiny peekaboo highlights of chocolate-chestnut and blond underneath my top layer of hair only on BOTH sides of my head.

2 months later: Hair is still on point. Yes, even my blonde highlights underneath...EXCEPT for one little problem...

Can you see this little baby hair spurt that got highlighted blond and has grown out? (it never grows any longer...)

Ok so usually always have my hair down so it doesn't bother me BUT when i have it up, this is what happens...UGH. (reminder to self: darken this baby section next time)

Not planning to get my hair done anytime soon so I need me a quick fix me up-er!

SOOOO...this is their solution? I'm a bit disappointed b/c there's a teeny price difference and I don't know if that brush (is it a blending brush? can't tell...) is any good. BUT, we all get our very own Naked Palette soon right?!

P.S. I got my palette(w/the eye pencils) in January from Sephora.com from being on the waitlist AND just ordered a backup (w/the pencil) from Urbandecay.com from being on their waitlist also, LOL. I am by far, impressed with the highly sought after palette and if you break down the price of everything that goes with it...it's a STEAL! I love, loveeee it.

Either way, I would have got the New Naked Palette with the brush IF i didn't have the other ones. If I had the choice to pick between the two...i'm going with the one that comes with the eyeliner pencils! =]

LOL. I didn't wanna look like some bridesmaid gone WRONG. So I had to go back for them to add the extra material on again...and everything turned out fine *PHEW*

It was really nerve wrecking, time consuming, and expensive...so my message for future references: alter it earlier and make sure you and the alterations person are on the same page!!!

The bridesmaids beautiful bouquets, i just loveeeeeeeeee the colors. (hint: fall)

Overall, it was a fun and unforgettable night (gotta love the open bars!).

Yes, I finally received my pink friday after my order got delayed to the following friday release!

Comparison: Viva gaga is lighter and sheer babydoll pink (but buildable), Pink Friday is an intense barbie pink with a hint of purple (in my opinion, the lighting def plays a role), and Pink Nouveau is also an intense but darker pink.

Two cents: To begin with, I am not impressed with the packaging since it is like any other MAC lippie tube, so nothing special edition about it. The lippie is a satin finish so I would say this is a bit on the drying side, so you better exfoliate them puckers before you put em on...unlike SOMEBODY (*ahem: me*). I am a girl who is not afraid of trying any lip color but I feel like this may be the first lipstick that I don't think suits me that well. It's bright and really overwhelming.

Verdict: Too bright for my taste. Might be returning it unless the return fees cost too much then I'm just going to keep it. As you can tell, I am on the fence about this one.

Happy Thursday! My winter break has officially started ever since last night, hoping I KILLED those finals. I work + study hard and play harder! You ladies and gents feel me on that one right!?

Hi! Hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving and made it out of the black Friday madness.

I worked Thanksgiving day and the whole weekend. Then it was dead week for school after that, leading onto finals week this week!
...........yes, i am tired, stressed, sick, whatever that happens after some long ass weeks!

I did have a chance to have a gathering for a Pre-Thanksgiving potluck dinner with my pals! =]

MMMMmmmHmmmm, yummy. My part included the turkey, stuffing, gravy, (from scratch..i am PROUD hehe) and fruity pebbles krispy. **WOW** I wasn't aware that a turkey took so much work and some SCARY work (cleaning it out...yadidimean? =P ). yes so i had to youtube "how to clearn a turkey" and yes i was screaming and laughing with my boyfriend and guy friend when they just stood there to watch me clean it...hahah oh gosh....SMH

after everybody was stuffed, we drank and sipped a lil more. played monopoly and just chillaxed. =]

I always get questions and requests about my hair: what I use, what I do to it, and how. To be honest, I don't like to use products on my hair because I have to give up the soft and natural feel of my hair and get stuck with sticky-icky greasy hair. Until I found these products that have worked for me.

Pravana
'intense therapy' leave in treatment

This product is a twelfer! hah!

I have the travel size, have two that are used (one at my apt and one at my parents), and bought two more to stock up on. yes, i do love this product.

i use this as a leave in conditioner, a heat protector, and as a hair de-tangler. i also use this to make my hair smell delicious (like candy). its like a lotion spray for my hair. it makes my hair soft and gives it enough moisture/product so my hair isn't static-y. my hair actually feels all natural and shiny. My hair has been healthy and shiny in order for it to grow longer from using it religiously everyday! =]]

it's a 10
miracle leave in product

this product is for distressed and damaged hair. you can feel the 'miracle' when sprayed onto the hair with the thick silky feel that it leaves on my hair. it is extremely moisture packed. makes sense bc its for damaged hair. it leaves my hair smelling good also! i don't use this everyday, only 2-3 times a week bc the moisture is a bit thick for my taste to use everyday. it's for those days that i feel like my hair has been overworked from all the heat i use on my hair (blowdryer and curling iron). my 2nd product that i love...explains why i just bought another bottle in a bigger size!

i use these for flyaways but aside from that i don't use it. too much product for me! i only tame my flyaways when i have to go out or dress up, otherwise i just let it be haha...

i would say that joe is thicker and more solid compared to the pantene. the joe pomade is a men's product but it works real good. its on the spendy side. if you're lookin for a cheaper alternative, pantene is fine.

Biolage
conditioning balm

this is a deep conditioner that i have used from the get go. i used it frequently when i used to bleach my hair to platinum blonde back in the day...yup hah. i use this like once every two weeks bc im lazy...i should do it once a week because i feel like it lasts the whole week on my hair, stronger silkier and softer.
